Mr. O. Arivazhagan, B.E (Honors), PMP, PMI-SP, PMI-RMP,
MBB, CFM (HFI, USA) CEO addresses on
Entrepreneurship
to MBA Freshman/Professors/Parents at Sona
College of Technology
in Salem on 28th August 2015.
In his speech,
to a target audience of about 200-250 MBA
Freshman/Professors/Parents he said his advice to parents is that while they have certain
expectations/desires from their children; comparisons with other
children and too much expectation may hinder the self-confidence
of the child. Parents should be happy if their child gets placed
in college as it
makes the child self-sufficient and not dependent on the
parents. They should also perform their job to the best of their
ability.
He quoted a book
“ Rich Dad Poor dad “ by Robert Kiyosaki which advocates
financial independence and building wealth through investing,
starting and owning businesses as well as increasing one’s
financial intelligence to improve one’s business and financial
aptitude. He said that it is difficult to become a businessman
immediately after completing post graduate degree, so it is
ideal to work for a few years and then invest in business.
He also said
that People Management Skills is the need of the hour and India
is the Human Resource Capital. People generally fall into one of
the two categories: Introverts & Extroverts. Introverts are good
creators and extroverts are good sellers/marketers. Typically a
company looks for/hires extroverts while to become a successful
businessman one needs to be an introvert. Indians have generally
good People Management Skills also companies hiring from abroad
expect students to have
1. Integrity 2. Good Command over
English Language 3. Financial Management Skills – students have
to develop/equip themselves with the skills, which would
contribute their personal growth as well as the growth of the
company.
