Mr. O. Arivazhagan, B.E
(Honors), PMP, PMI-SP, PMI-RMP, MBB, CFM (HFI, USA) CEO, IIPM was
invited as Chief Guest by St. Francis Xavier School, a 105 years
old school for
the “Republic Day” celebration on 26th Jan
2012.
The Republic Day function was celebrated with great zeal by students,
teachers and parents. Mr. O. Ari hoisted the National Flag and
took the salute of the March-Past presented by the students. A variety
cultural program, depicting the patriotic theme was presented by the
girls students.
In his republic day address to the students Mr. O. Arivazhagan highlighted the
importance of Republic Day and the value of time. He emphasized
the value
of time at length. He told "every morning, God credits to everybody’s account,
whether girl or boy, teachers or students,
with 24 hours. Every night HE empties it. Carries over no balance". So
students should make use every hour by studying, playing, watching TV,
reading newspaper, visiting library, helping
parents etc. He also donated lots of valuable children book to school library.
Mr. O. Arivazhagan reminded the quote of John F. Kennedy “Ask
not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your
country”. He stressed the need for every citizen, on this
republic day to ask himself or herself what he or she can do for the
country at least in a small way. As part of Corporate Social Responsibility, he promised to fund for a
Science Lab to that the school on that occasion.
He also exhorted the students to do their best for our mother land. His
speech added flavor with an interesting story of two cats and one fox
which reminded students the importance of staying united at troubled times.
The story was well enjoyed by the students. Mr. Ari
distributed prizes to the students to acknowledge & appreciate their
various contribution and at special gesture he denoted Rs.500 to the
"top saver" in the school in small savings scheme. The celebration ended
with vote of thanks and National Anthem. The
Republic Day function culminated with the distribution of sweets/chocolates
among the students.
