Six Sigma in Project Management- IIPM Quarterly Meeting

  IIPM is happy to announce an evening program on "Six Sigma in Project Management" on 19th April (Saturday) at Hotel Southern Crest for the benefit of IIPM Alumni, PMPs, PMI^® Chennai Chapter members, and other PM professionals.

  There will be 3 such short evening meetings scheduled bimonthly on various topics related to and / or from the PMBOK^® Guide and at the end the 3rd meeting, 7 PDUs will be awarded FREE of cost to all participants who complete all the
3 meetings over a span of 6-9 months.

This an excellent opportunity to network, exchange PM related ideas, and meet other professionals

All participants will earn 2 PDUs.

[Project management professionals often are intrigued as to how to relate Six Sigma and project management, two great faculties of sciences, to reap the benefits from their approaches and tools and techniques. Some even challenge that six sigma is not relevant to projects and wonder if it can ever be applied to projects. Six sigma is traditionally viewed as "manufacturing industry" specific tool applied mostly to "products". Participants will get answers to such questions and learn how Six sigma concepts can be applied to effective project management.]

Role Play -Case Study:

  Mr. Shivakumar, PMP of IBM has volunteered to play the role of CEO of a Small & Medium Enterprise/ Software Development company to inquire in to the aspects of implementing Six Sigma in his pseudo company. I will be playing the role of the Six Sigma Consultant clarifying his concerns about applicability of Six Sigma to a Project-based company.
