The Project Management
Professional (PMP)® credential examination will be updated in
2016, based on updates to the professional role of a PMP®
recently found in PMI’s Role Delineation Study (RDS).
How the PMP® is affected
The five domains of practice for the PMP remain the same. However, tasks within each domain have been modified, added, or removed.

Exam Content Outline is now final. Please check that you refer to the document dated June 2015 on page 2 to be sure you are referring to the updated version.
Here’s an overview of the newly added content:
Domain 1 - Initiating the Project
3 tasks added – task 2, task 7, task 8
Domain 2 - Planning the Project
1 task added – task 13
Domain 3 - Executing the Project
2 tasks added – task 6, task 7
Domain 4 - Monitoring and controlling the project
2 tasks added – task 6, task 7
Domain 5 - Closing the project
No new tasks added
Upcoming PMP Exam Changes
IIPM is already in the process of updating its current content align to
the new changes, its question bank to meet the challenges.
- The exam remains based on the PMBOK Guide 5th Edition and the additional reference materials upon which our course is base.
- This exam update is based upon a Role Delineation Study (RDS) that redefines the current role of a Project Manager across industries and business types.
- Only the relative distribution of content on the exam will shift after
January 11th, 2016. The New version will focus on content being
emphasized starting on January 11th, 2016 although the exam remains based on the five process groups and ten knowledge areas as delineated in the PMBOK Guide 5th Edition.
- The material covers the same type of career evolution and updates that a credentialed PMP should follow to obtain Professional Development Unit and maintain their PMP credential.
- The tasks listed in the Examination Content Outline have been updated and slightly modified.
- The addition of these tasks will create 25% new content on the exam as related
to the new tasks. The exam remains in the same format, question count,
scoring mechanism and duration.
